Claires Comfort for Kids was created by a 7th grade student named Claire Helman who wanted to find a way to help children who are victims of trauma. This program collects small blankets to be put in first responders patrol cars (small enough so that not to take up valuable trunk space). At any traumatic event involving children, the officers could give the child a blanket to hold onto, and let them keep, as they work through the trauma.
Albion Fellows Bacon Center, along with the YWCA, is asking for groups, agencies, or individuals to donate their time to create blankets that can be donated to this program.
If you have any questions or would like to be apart of this program, please contact Albion Fellows Bacon Center at 812-422-9372.
