Our Mission
The Mission of Albion Fellows Bacon Center is to eliminate domestic and sexual violence in our communities through advocacy, education, support services and collaborative partnerships.
Our History
Since 1981, Albion Fellows Bacon Center has been providing safe shelter, crisis intervention and education to victims of domestic violence and their children.
In 1990, Albion expanded its services to include victims of sexual assault. That same year, the organization moved into a new facility designed solely for the purpose of serving domestic violence victims.
Who is Albion Fellows Bacon?
Our Goal
Albion accomplishes its Mission by:
- Helping victims of domestic violence and sexual violence (and their children) identify, prepare for, and strive toward the final goal of violent-free relationships.
- Educating victims and their children to break the cycle of violence through direct service programs.
- Enhancing self-reliance by helping individuals recognize their strengths and contributions.
- Providing opportunities for individuals to achieve their optimal emotional, intellectual, and physical well-being.
- Implementing a comprehensive community educational program designed to increase the societal awareness and recognition of the physical and emotional aspects related to domestic violence and sexual assault.
- Directing the programs and services of Albion Fellows Bacon Center through a volunteer Board of Directors.
- Providing a management structure that is flexible, productive and responsive to the needs of the community.
- Recruiting, training and supervising a sufficient number of volunteers to enhance and expand program services.
- Supporting these activities through the actions of concerned citizens, existing service providers and other community resources.
